THE NCBA ROBERT F. O’BRIEN AWARD
Named in honor of our founder, this award is to be presented to a graduating student who has distinguished him/her self by contributing the qualities of cooperation, effort, loyalty, and spirit to the band program. Musicianship may or may not be a consideration in determining the recipient. ORDER FORM NCBA HONORS ORGANIZATIONS – Certificate
Nominations for distinguished Elementary Concert Band members, High School Concert Band members, Combined Elementary & High School Jazz Band members, and Combined String Orchestra members. Directors must submit nominations by March 1 of each year. (After nominations are received certificate PDF’s will be sent participating members) |
THE NCBA WISKIRCHEN JAZZ AWARD
Named for NCBA’s long-time Executive Secretary and outstanding jazz educator, this award is to be presented to the outstanding graduating jazz musician in a Catholic high school or college band program. ORDER FORM FRIEND OF THE BAND AWARD – Certificate
A certificate suitable for framing acknowledging a person or organization outside the band program for their efforts in supporting and assisting the program. (Free to members, certificate PDF can be found in the ‘Members Only’ section of the website. SCHOOL MEMBERSHIP CERTIFICATE – Certificate
A certificate suitable for framing acknowledging the school’s membership in NCBA. Available for each school in which an NCBA member teaches. |
Music Educator Awards:
THE ADAM P. LESINSKY AWARD - Plaque
NCBA’s highest award presented as warranted to an individual member of NCBA for outstanding contributions to the profession. “This award was founded in honor of one of the true pioneers of the high school band and orchestra movements in our country.” It is presented at the discretion of the BOARD OF DIRECTORS to a worthy individual who embodies those unique qualities concomitant with the example of distinguished service and dedication given the Catholic band movement by the first recipient, Dr. Adam Lesinsky. Recognition presented as warranted to a member or non-member for notable achievement in leadership involving service to NCBA members. |
THE PRESIDENT’S AWARD - Plaque
An award presented at the discretion of the Board of Directors to NCBA members or non-members for very noteworthy contributions to the profession in a single or continuing event that exemplifies the standards and ideals upon which the NCBA was founded. THE CHARLES R. WINKING AWARD - Plaque
Awarded “For outstanding contributions to the field of wind band conducting” The award may be given annually at the discretion of the BOARD OF DIRECTORS. |
